A smorgasbord of sports thoughts

June 16, 2010

A lot going on in the Big Apple....

The Mets are all of a sudden road warriors, the Yankees continue to dominate at home, Darrelle Revis may not be who we thought he was, and the Nets have a new coach.  Oh yea, and apparently Lebron James is bigger than New York City.  Yuck….

I have a lot on my mind, and it’s time to rant!

Go See Rocket shes got a job for ya

To say my friends are an eclectic bunch is an understatement. We’ve got black folks, brown folks (Filipinos are brown skinned dammit!), yellow folks and of course the sprinkle of white folks. Not that it matters, I think we all have a common interest in girls, piff, cars, video games, clothing and of course sports. However, that does not stop us from ribbing each other with momma jokes, ethnic jokes and your’e not working tomorrow jokes. This guy did coke? ...NO WAY!

Texas Rangers skipper Ron Washington tested positive for cocaine in an MLB- administered drug test dating back to 2009.

“I did make a mistake and I regret that I did it,” Washington told SI.com by phone from Surprise, Ariz., on Tuesday night. “I am really embarrassed and I am really sorry.”

As if steroids, HGH, and other performance enhancing drugs weren’t enough, now we have to worry about drug addict managers as well?

Whats next?

This just in…   Joe Girardi’s a meth head and Jerry Manuel’s at a rave trippin ballz ( the second one wouldn’t surprise me)?

This is getting ridiculous….

The Barclays Center

March 12, 2010

Since 2006 I have been listening to one rumor after another about a proposed arena for the New Jersey Nets which would be located in Brooklyn, New York City.  Like most, I met this idea with disbelief and condescension. Read the rest of this entry ?

Francesa is embarassing himself

January 19, 2010

One thing that makes writers great, and radio hosts entertaining, is their ability to say or write outlandish things so people either read their articles or call up their show.  What fun would it be if Wallace Matthews always praised the Mets and Yankees?

Top 10 NY Sports Moments of 2009

December 30, 2009

...where dreams are made of

As 2009 comes to a close, and Luis Castillo drops the ball  in Times Square, we reflect on those moments (good or bad) in the past year that made New York sports entertaining, frustrating, and memorable.  Players went down, new players arrived, and even a Championship was won for the city.  Tears were shed, fans jumped for joy, and in a time of recession sports provided us with an outlet to escape.
