Are Tannenbaum and Woody dealing with the Devil?

Mike Tannenbaum’s acquisition of Santonio Holmes was just another piece towards bringing a Superbowl to Jets fans.  It began with the hiring of Rex Ryan, and over the last 12 months has included the drafting of Mark Sanchez, trades for Braylon Edwards and Antonio Cromartie, the swapping of LT for TJ and Brodney Poole for Kerry Rhodes, and the soon-to-be signing of Jason Taylor.  Mike Tannenbaum and Woody Johnson are stopping at nothing in ensuring the Jets have one of the elite teams on paper entering the 2010 season.

All these bold moves, however, could come with a hefty price to pay.   Read the rest of this entry ?

Thomas Jones- A product of the Jets offensive line

March 16, 2010

Good luck in KC...you're gonna need it.

Since the Jets signed LaDainian Tomlinson, most people have stated their belief that LT is done and washed up.  Last season, Tomlinson ran for just over 700 yards and 12 TD’s, a far cry from his career year of 1,800 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2006.  Furthermore, he was hurt two out of the last three years and was used less and less in the San Diego offense.  Read the rest of this entry ?

The Replacements

...starring Brodney Pool and maybe Tomlinson?

The Jets have come to an agreement with free-agent safety Brodney Pool on a 1-year, 1.3 million dollar deal.

Pool had previously played his entire career with the Cleveland Browns, and although he will be entering his 6th season in the NFL, Brodney is only 25 years old.  Because the Browns did not offer Brodney Pool a tender, Gang Green will not have to send any compensation to Cleveland.  Read the rest of this entry ?

We see you Mark Sanchez....

What do the haters and bitter Giant fans have to say now?

All week, Jet fans listened to how their defense was overrated, the Bengals laid down for them last week, and Sanchez would not be able to make plays against the “stifling” Cincinnati defense.

With their rookie quarterback playing mistake-free football, the New York Jets turned their surprising playoff appearance into a long-running production and silenced the doubters.

Mark Sanchez handled single-degree wind chills and the playoff pressure with no problems Saturday, throwing a touchdown pass on a rollout play, and the NFL’s top running game took it from there, setting up a 24-14 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sanchez went 12 of 15 for 182 yards, becoming the fourth rookie quarterback since 1950 to start and win a playoff game.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Sanchez has arrived.

Rex Ryan thinks the Jets should be favorites to win the whole thing

The Jets for the fifth time this decade qualified for the playoffs and will face Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer and the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.

Coach Marvin Lewis said he simplified their game plan against the New York Jets in the regular-season finale. Even a complex scheme, though, might falter if his team gets pushed around again.

Jets hault perfection, defeat unbeaten Colts

December 28, 2009

Thomas Jones and company ran all over the Colts

Boo yah….

The New York Jets put themselves in prime position for a playoff berth with a 29-15 victory over the previously undefeated Colts.  Everything broke the right way for Gang Green in the earlier games, and the Jets did their part to earn the opportunity to play for a wild-card berth next Sunday against the Bengals.  If the Jets win, they’re in….lose, and they can schedule tee times with Eli Manning and the Giants.
