Another one that got away

Lance Stephenson was supposed to be the crown jewel of the 2009 recruiting class for St. John’s.  He was destined to light up the city, rejuvenate the Garden, and bring the Red Storm back to national prominence.  Obviously talented, Lance was also outgoing, flamboyant, and confident.  With basically the entire team from last season returning, Lance could take the Johnnies to – dare I say- the NCAA tournament.   

Nevertheless, it was all a dream….

Ballin' at the Rucker

Harlem was an epicenter of professional sports in the 1900’s, and the Polo Grounds was ground zero. It was a stadium that hosted professional football games, college football games and was once the home of baseballs New York Giants before they moved to San Francisco. Many of New York’s professional teams can trace their roots to the former space that occupied 155th street.
