New Orleans- Ladies and gentleman, the Knicks are streaking.  New York held New Orleans to 96 points and scored the final 18 points of the fourth quarter to beat the Hornets 113-96 down in the big easy. It is their fifth win in six games and their fourth straight, a feat they have not done since January of 2006.

Knicks surge in 2nd half to beat Nets

3 out of 4 ain't bad

The Knicks continued their strong play as of late and used a second half breakout from Larry Hughes to defeat the Nets earlier this afternoon at Madison Square Garden. They have won 3 out of 4 games starting from last weeks blow-out over the Phoenix Suns.

Al dishing and swishing amid trade rumors

ATLANTA — Josh Smith was in the locker room when the Atlanta Hawks were trying to find a way to stop the New York Knicks‘ cuts to the basket.

Smith, ejected in the second quarter, proved to be a crucial missing piece.Al Harrington scored 27 points, Chris Duhon had 25 points and 10 assists and the Knicks used an effective combination of 3-pointers and drives to the basket to beat the Hawks 114-107 on Friday night.

Several sources believe the Bulls are agreeable to a package of Thomas and Jerome James for Knicks forward Al Harrington. Thus far, Walsh has resisted parting with Harrington, but discussions are still active and the teams have explored different combinations in recent days that would ultimately deliver Thomas to the Knicks.

“Nothing is imminent, but both sides would like to figure out a way to do this,” one league executive briefed on the talks told Yahoo! Sports.

DENVER — The last two points were the hardest for Carmelo Anthony. With the game in the balance, the crowd chanting “MVP! MVP!” and Anthony’s sights set on an offensive milestone, the Nuggets forward sank a pair of free throws with 16 seconds remaining to finish off a career-high, 50-point performance and help Denver beat the New York Knicks 128-125 Friday night.

Team Defense leads to the Knicks 2nd win of the season

INDIANAPOLIS- Down by as many as 19 points, the New York Knicks finally buckled down to get their second win of the season. Team defense and good shot selection were  keys to a second half comeback, along with huge contributions from the bench. Al Harrington nailed back to back three-point shots to bring the Knicks within one in the fourth quarter and had a team high 26 points.

I wish this never happened

If you’re a late 20 something male New Yorker like myself I’m sure you’ve heard those words rapped by the late great Lamont Coleman, otherwise known as Big L. Big L for those who don’t know, was probably the dopest lyricist to ever come out of Harlem, not Jim Jones, Camron, Juelz Santana or God forbid Mase. He was unexpectedly taken from us in 1999 when he was slain outside of his apartment on 139th street.
