Highway RobberyApril 11, 2010
A warrant was issued late Sunday night for Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum. It is being reported by ESPN that he robbed the Pittsburgh Steelers of Wide Receiver Santonio Holmes for a 5th round draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Holmes will be entering his 5th year in the NFL and has racked up 235 catches for 3,835 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was also the MVP in Super Bowl XLIII.
The Steelers were reportedly tired of the receiver’s off-field issues, which include marijuana possession and a domestic violence charged that was eventually dropped. He was also recently accused of throwing a glass at a woman in a nightclub, but no charges have been filed.
How many more unlawful acts is Tannenbaum going to commit before the 2010 season begins? In less than 12 months, Mr. T has already traded for Mark Sanchez, Shonn Greene, Braylon Edwards, Antonio Cromartie, and now Santonio Holmes.
It is being rumored that Holmes could be suspended for up to four games for past issues, but still a great move for the Jets.
