In the Darko, Milicic will return to Europe

Darko has had 15 DNP's this season

I thought Darko would be an integral part of the Knicks rotation this season, but I’m not running the team. Darko alongside with Nate Robinson have been banished to the bench and it does not look like they will be seeing any action soon. Milicic has 15 DNP’s this season and was placed on the inactive list on Tuesday when the Knicks faced the Bobcats.

“Whatever happens, I’m going back (to Europe) next year,” the 7-foot-1 Milicic said after yesterday’s Knicks practice at Moody Bible Institute. “It’s 100-percent certain. I have to be real and not lie. I’m not going to get it done in the NBA. I’m not going to get another opportunity and there’s nothing wrong with going back to Europe. I don’t want to create a bad atmosphere here, but it’s not working in the NBA.”

Darko who was selected after Lebron James and before Carmelo Anthony in the 2002 NBA draft has been a bust during his tenure in the NBA. The Knicks thought he would be able to help the team but did not show the offensive capacity Coach D’antoni needed when he did play.

“I don’t give a bleep about the money,” Milicic said. “I just want to enjoy the basketball. I’d like to have the ball in my hands and have an offense run through me. I’m not just a defensive player.”

Darko is on a one year deal and will be a free-agent next season, his agent Marc Cornstein has not requested a trade or buyout from Knick GM Donnie Walsh.
