Garden Bound?

December 4, 2009

Tyrus Thomas showing his athleticism

Several sources believe the Bulls are agreeable to a package of Thomas and Jerome James for Knicks forward Al Harrington. Thus far, Walsh has resisted parting with Harrington, but discussions are still active and the teams have explored different combinations in recent days that would ultimately deliver Thomas to the Knicks.

“Nothing is imminent, but both sides would like to figure out a way to do this,” one league executive briefed on the talks told Yahoo! Sports.

The price you pay for victory

Mark Sanchez limps to the locker room after injuring his right knee in the Jets 19-13 victory

I guess the Jets should ask Joe Girardi for a refund for those sliding lessons. Well, not exactly.

The Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills 19-13 in Toronto Thursday night, keeping their playoff dreams alive at 6-6.  Sanchez threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards before hurting his right knee, and Darrelle Revis and the Jets swarming defense finished the job en route to a victory. Sanchez finished 7-of-15 for 104 yards in an abbreviated night that was a much better performance than his previous game against Buffalo, when he threw a season-worst five interceptions, including one that set up the winning field goal.  Nonetheless, he suffered another knee injury and that might hurt his chances of playing the rest of the season.

December 4, 2009

Matt Moulson celebrates one of his three goals on the night

For the second time in as many games, the Islanders defeated the dangerous and dynamic Atlanta Thrashers 4-1 in the ATL Thursday night.  The story of the game was Matt Moulson and his first ever NHL hat-trick.  Moulson now has two mult-goal games this season and leads the team with 14 goals.

“It was good,” Moulson said. “My dad said he’d lock me out if I didn’t score or we didn’t get a win.”
