News and Notes:  Stony Brook is off to it’s best start since the 92-93 season.  The Seawolves are coming off a 71-52 win at Lehigh Monday night.  In its three road wins, Stony Brook has held its opponents to a combined 31.7 percent shooting while Bryan Dougher and senior Muhammad El-Amin  have combined to score 29.0 points per contest.  St. John’s leads the all-time series against the Seawolves, 7-0, having squared off each season from 1999-2005.  St. John’s is 5-0 against Stony Brook in Queens, including a 63-45 victory on Dec. 7, 2005, at Carnesecca Arena. Both Anthony Mason J.R. and Rob Thomas will miss tonight’s game, and are expected back in two-three weeks.  For the first time since the 2006 season, the Red Storm received votes for the Top 25 Polls.  They are No. 35 in ESPN, and No. 39 in the AP.
