News and Notes: St. John’s has played 27 games all time at The Palestra (13-14), making an appearance almost every season from 1960-71 to 1979-80. Friday’s game is the first for the Johnnies since the 1983-84 season. The Red Storm is 2-0 all-time against Siena, but the two schools have not squared off in 26 seasons. St. John’s posted a 71-56 victory on the road on Feb. 4, 1956, and picked up a 73-40 victory at what was then Alumni Hall in Queens on Nov. 25, 1983. Redshirt senior Anthony Mason Jr. (hamstring) and redshirt junior Rob Thomas (groin) both are still out and are expected back on the court in mid-to-late December. Siena is coming off a 34 point win over Delaware after losing a four-point decision to Temple in their first Philly Classic game. Siena is the favorite to win the MAAC Conference and was projected just outside the Top-25, pre-season.
