News and Notes including a DiPietro siting after the jump!

News and Notes: The Islanders have lost all 10 meetings with the Flyers — two in shootouts — since a 4-3 home win Feb. 12, 2008. Philadelphia has outscored New York 36-18 in that span, though the Atlantic Division foes haven’t met this season.  The Flyers are looking to avoid losing four straight for the first time since dropping their first six last season.  After playing three games up with the big club while Brendan Witt was gone, Andrew MacDonald has been returned on loan to Bridgeport.  Rick DiPietro is back in the news, as the injured goalie worked out at IceWorks, facing about 70 shots in a 45 minute span.  It is still uncertain when he will be healthy enough to return.  “I made a commitment here to [owner] Charles [Wang] and to Long Island and the organization,” he said. “This is where I want to be and I’m doing everything I can every day to improve and help this team get better. I know I haven’t been able to do that … I realize that and I’m sorry for it. But it’s something you can’t control.”
