Johnnies Escape Another Bad Team

November 20, 2009

St. John’s escaped Ivy League bottom feeder Brown tonight 79-76. Another uninspiring performance for the Johnnies. This comes on the heels of a one point win against a mediocre Atlantic-10 team, in St. Bonaventure. To struggle this bad against one of the worst teams in the Ivy League, at home no less, does not bode well for the rest of the year. Norm, what’s going on??

The Red Storm was led by Dwight Hardy who was 6 for 11 from the field and finished with 16 points. Junior forward Sean Evans dumped in 14 points and 9 boards in just 24 minutes, including 6 offensive rebounds.    Peter Sullivan paced the Bears with 17 points, and Matt Mullery nearly matched him with 16.

St. John’s resumes play in the Philly Hoops Classic  next Friday (11/27) from the famous Palestra against a very good Siena team.
