Joba no longer has the mystique of 2007.
Three games. Three blown leads. The Yankees bullpen is in trouble.
I don’t know what to think of the last three games — two against Boston, one versus Minnesota — but I know one thing for sure. Mariano will be OK. I can’t say the same thing about Joba Chamberlain. Read the rest of this entry ?

Robinson Cano has been one of the few bright spots for the Yankees this year
The Yankees have hit their first losing skid of the season, losing four of their last five games, the last being a humiliating loss to the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4.
So with that, I’d like to shed some light on some of the good things I’ve seen over the past 19 games, some of the bad, and definitely, the ugly parts of this 2010 Yankees season. Read the rest of this entry ?

Who will come out on top?
When looking at the AL East, it’s arguable that the best three teams in baseball are in this division. The Yankees, Red Sox and Rays all are stacked with premium offensive players, good pitching and exceptional coaching, which makes this year’s hunt for October that much more interesting.

Joba deserves to start this year
Joba Chamberlain should be a starter.
Unless he goes out this year and rolls out a poultry five-plus ERA, throws 91 mph heaters combined with meatball cement mixers, then by all means, put him in the pen. But hasn’t he earned the opportunity to pitch a full season without shackles? Read the rest of this entry ?

What an idiot
Dear Torii Hunter,
I used to respect you. Actually, I kinda admired you as a ball player. I thought you played the game the way it was meant to be played, with integrity and pride. You were one of the good guys. Those days are done though. You’re officially on my shit list.

Can Sanchez change the Jets culture?
It’s all settled in, the pain has subsided and I can now assess the New York Jets with an objective eye. So I’ll prepare myself for a punch in the face from Rex Ryan.
Same Old Jets.
There, I said it. Read the rest of this entry ?

Two guns up mutha.....
This whole Gilbert Arenas situation is pissing me off.
OK. I get it. You shouldn’t bring guns into a locker room. You probably shouldn’t bring guns anywhere. I mean, if you feel you the need to bring a gun with you for protection, it’s probably a place you shouldn’t be going to in the first place. And throwing up finger pistols after being caught with four guns, and allegedly pulling one out and pointing it at one of your teammates is just straight up idiotic. Read the rest of this entry ?

Melky Cabrera was traded to Atlanta
When I think back to 2004, in particular the ALCS, images of the most debilitating/humiliating loss flood my memory, and my throat fills with vomit. No Yankees fan will ever forget The Collapse, and entrenched in the center of that nightmare was Javier Vazquez. Read the rest of this entry ?

Omar Minaya has one more chance to get this right.
Does Omar Minaya take Mets fans for idiots?
Four years at $65 million for Jason Bay? Is he serious?
An offer like that is not only egregious, but a spat in the face of Mets fans, and an equally saliva-filled loogie in the eye of Bay. Read the rest of this entry ?

Sabre-metricians and statisticians say they can determine the success of a player largely by using stats/mathematical formulas, and to some extent, I think you can. A high OBP or OPS can go a long ways in determining the value of a player, but should numbers and math equations be the only way we judge talent?
The answer is simple: No.
During this age of increased technology, an important part of scouting has gone by the wayside: the good, old-fashioned eye test. All the numbers in the world can’t determine how well a player will perform on a different team or in the clutch. Read the rest of this entry ?
